Jaycee Park

Location: Jaycee Park is located on Hutchinson Ave across from Hattiesburg High School

Jaycee Park underwent a two-part renovation and upgrade funded by the 1-cent hotel/restaurant tax. This included projects to upgrade both the playing fields and associated supporting facilities.

The Jaycee Park Field Project encompasses a comprehensive restoration and update of Jaycee Park, highlighted by the replacement of Cameron Field with a state-of-the-art baseball facility. This update will feature a hybrid synthetic/natural grass surface and advanced LED lighting to support Dixie Youth baseball players. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a new softball field for the Hattiesburg High School Girls’ Softball Program, which will also boast the same high-quality synthetic/natural grass and LED lighting. This upgrade provides top-tier athletic facilities for our youth.

The Jaycee Park Support Facility Renovation involved significant upgrades to modernize the 40-year-old structure, ensuring it meets current standards and codes. Improvements included the installation of ADA-accessible restrooms, updated concession stands, enhanced meeting spaces, expanded storage areas, two new press boxes and three revamped stadium seating sections. These upgraded facilities now serve both the Hattiesburg High School Girls’ Softball Program and the Optimist Club’s Dixie Youth Program, providing a supportive and compliant environment for community sports.
