In April of 2019, the citizens of Hattiesburg voted to approve a 1% tax on hotel/motel/restaurant transactions to generate funding for Parks and Recreation projects. The total amount of new revenue is split between the City of Hattiesburg and The University of Southern Mississippi. This website looks at the City of Hattiesburg's portion of funding and the projects it has produced.
